About the authors
Babak Boghraty

Babak Boghraty began teaching in 2014, after two decades of representing U.S. agribusinesses in Iran. Between 2014 and 2019, he developed Boston University School of Law’s comprehensive curriculum in global compliance, designing and teaching courses on the FCPA, export controls, sanctions, BSAAML and combatting the financing of terrorism. Mr. Boghraty graduated from BU School of Law in 1989 and practiced litigation at Kelley Drye & Warren (Miami and Los Angeles) and Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe (Los Angeles) until the late 1990s. He then returned to Europe and Iran to help build one of Iran’s leading private enterprises, accounting for a significant portion of the US-Iran licensed trade.
