About the authors

Barry Friedman

New York University School of Law

Barry Friedman is the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Professor of Law at New York University School of Law, where he also has served as Vice Dean. He has taught at a number of law schools, including Vanderbilt, the University of Alabama, and at his alma mater Georgetown as an adjunct. He is a nationally-recognized expert on constitutional law, judicial review, court, and policing and public safety. He has taught Constitutional Law, Contracts and Criminal Procedure in the 1L year, and is a winner of the Podell Distinguished Teaching Award.

John C.P. Goldberg

Harvard Law School

John C.P. Goldberg is the Morgan and Helen Chu Dean and Professor of Law at Harvard Law School, where he has been a faculty member since 2008. He was previously a professor at Vanderbilt Law School. A leading torts scholar, Dean Goldberg has taught 1L courses in civil procedure, contracts, constitutional law, criminal law, and torts, and has received multiple teaching awards.

Maria Ponomarenko

The University of Texas School of Law

Maria Ponomarenko is a Professor of Law at the University of Texas School of Law. She was previously a professor at the University of Minnesota Law School. She has taught 1L courses in both constitutional law and legislation and regulation. She has won awards for both her teaching and scholarship, including the Stanley V. Kinyon Teacher of the Year award from the University of Minnesota Law School and the Professor of the Year award from the University of Texas School of Law.
